For a 800/1500 guy, would you choose University of Kentucky, Kansas U, Penn State, Texas at Arlington or Washington State?

Florida
Washington would be my first choice to live, followed by Texas-Arlington's weather. The other programs are light years apart though athletically. Penn State would probably be the best college experience (off the track). Kentucky has had the deepest team of 800m runners the last 10 years. Penn State would be the median of all those things.
All comes down to how good you are and what you want out of school. You should take some road trips.
USC or UCLA #1 & #2 in T&F Oly & WC medals
Doesn't Penn State have 4 guys under 1:50? Who does Kentucky have after the guy that ran 147.6 one week ago?
Washington State is a program on the rise, it would be cool to be a part of that.
Wash State is on the rise, but so is Penn State. Who knows anything about Mdistance at Kentucky or Kansas?
Has Kansas produced anything under Stanley Redwine?
Go to a university in Boston so you can f*ck Matt Damon.
University of Southern Alabama...try them.
I'd go to Kentucky. There is a great athletics program there and lots of money.
Washington State is on the rise, as another poster said. Pete Julian is putting WSU on track to return to its glory days. Recently just added the Australian junior national champ (3:44 1500) - also runs a 1:52 800. Joe Abbott is top 10 800 guy (1:47). Pullman, WA is kinda the middle of nowhere, but it is a pretty area, and just about everyone there seems to love it.
Clearly you are interested to leave your state. Might want to think about what it's like to go a place where indoors is also run, since you don't run indoors in Florida. Of course, where you are right now in terms of times would also matter, since some of these programs might be better for development, and others more for having a solid group of mates, etc (if you are already sub 1:53/3:55 say). That would matter.
I'm in that range. All these schools have an indoor program. That is one of the reasons behind them being on my list.
Penn State, you will have one of the best 800 runners to train with for 2 years and the Big 10 is super deep in the 800/1500
UCLA has the most freshman applications each year.
Berkeley has the 2nd most.
Northeastern just got scholarships on the men's side. Right now BU is the best it's been on men's side in the 2000s. Boston running is on the rise, Matt Damon jokes aside.
Kansas State
had several sub 1:49 guys when I was there. Good school for Engineering & Architecture.
It was Kansas U not state
I think right now it is between Kentucky, Penn St, and WSU
Who knows anything about Peter Julian and John Gondak?
Im only a junior in high school, but I think I want to go to Washington, USC, or Oregon. Im not a huge mileage person and I want a good education.
