Yeah, you're on the right track if you already have practiced speed. Now you just need to practice having endurance. So I'd recommend practicing endurance for 15 miles and gradually increasing it to just above 26 miles. That way when you actually race, it will feel easy because you practiced going farther than you even needed to go!
