That's Miami University of Ohio, not University of Miami, FL. Just want this clear before the opinions start jumping in. Your tag line could mislead people into thinking it is U. of Miami, FL with Ohio State.
White and ASIAN students are shut down with SAT scores like 2370 for certain other population groups who score 1200. God where have ya all been. Its been a joke for 20 years. I never know what to say to these kids when another kid who got in to Brown laughs and says, Hell they payed for my transport to the school and I got in with an 1100. What is a school gonna do. Turn down some kid...who can then say you turned me down cause I'm black. Hell no! But no problem with turning down Asians and whites.

I think not knowing how to spell the past tense of "pay" was more a factor in your rejection.
Letsrun posters are ever vigilant about making sure poor black people and poor immigrants are not getting over on white folks.
Yet seem quite happy to accept the privileged position of the uber rich in our society -- including favorable admissions policies for the dumbass offspring of the uber rich.
You'd almost have to conclude that these posters are naive suckers, easily manipulated bu the rich via appeals to their racism.

Yup. This is why there are so few whites and Asians at top-tier schools...
The problem is both extremes ("poor black people... immigrants" and "dumbass offspring of the uber rich") are too dumb to realize that both of them "get a free pass".
The middle class pays for both groups to attend these universities. Don't make enough to pay out of pocket like the uber rich and make too much (because we work our a$$es off) to get assistance. So, we take financial aid and end up paying for our education well into our 30's.
The middle class keeps getting jobbed.....

Can you clarify what you mean here? You say in one sentence that the middle class pays for the poor and rich to attend school, then in the next sentence you imply that the rich pay out of pocket. So do the rich pay out of pocket, or are you paying for them?
The 10:1 Miami admits. The "1" white is going to be an academically superior (not a middle class student) individual, walking in to school with their tuition paid via scholarship. But yes, I guess you're right they do pay their own way for the most part... except those loans the middle class are "given" come with substantial interest payments.
The point is that the universities and their admission departments have leveled the playing field for the under privileged and maintained the privilege for the "uber rich" while placing the majority of the financial burden onto the middle class.
It is a class issue, not a race issue.

In this instance (academic acceptance into universities), yes, they are comparable.

The only poor blacks you will find at these colleges are those who are superior athletes and are making lots of dough for the schools. Free labor. You will find no poor brown immigrants.
The non athletes who are people of color are almost universally from the middle or upper economci classes

Free only if you let the 4 years of education you're being given for your athletic performance go to waste. According to you that's not worth a dime. I have no pity for those (white or black) who fail to take advantage of what is offered for free. THAT is the definition of stupidity.

They should re-run the numbers after removing athletes (especially the football team). I bet the SAT-race gap is not nearly as large...
Those are the facts, Miami University is one of the least diverse campuses in the US. While I don't necessarily agree with the 10:1 ratio thingy or whatever was reported, I applaud the U for attempting to admit someone other than a fratty white douche from chicago
