    I just got a sony handy cam and used it for a meet this weekend. I am not a tech guy at all and am realizing that it records MPEG 2. The free player that came with it PMB, plays it back like crap and it is very hard to slow it down and move between frames, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cheap MPEG2 player that can do all of that thanks. I am a PC.

    VirtualDub is probably the best capture program out there, and it is free. You don't need a bulky program with dumb features that you will never use. VLC player is also free and it plays 99% of video formats.
