Word on the street today from the RWOL forums is that Boston is going lottery. No other details. What say you? has anyone heard anything more?

They are obviously not very bright. All they have to do is have faster qualifying times for the actual monday boston and let the other hobbyjoggers who qualify run the new boston on sunday. They could even let the marathon maniacs do both if they were fast enough to qualify for the monday boston. While they are at it, they might as well add a boston half marathon on saturday. They could make a fortune and maybe even have enough money to let Meb run the actual fast monday marathon.
Go back to somewhat liberal standards - have to qualiy by running UNDER four hours; establish a four hour cut-off. Over four hours and you take to the sidewalks. Then gradually drop this all back to three hours. Real men run under three hours.
So enrollment drops to a thousand runners -years from now we'll talk about what ever happened to the Boston marathon. Remember when they used to run it from Hopkinton to downtown etc. Those were the days my friends, we thought they'd never end.......
If the BAA can't even get the balls to DQ KipLitton, what makes you expect they're going to get this right?
This is the thread.

Meh. Guy passing on something he heard from someone who heard. I'll wait until something official comes out. I'm not losing any sleep over it.
Anyone that still sees Boston as the be all end all of US running is living in the past. Maybe after the marathon you can trip up to NYC and go up on the WTC for a look around and then hit Studio 54 for some hip, wild NYC night life.
If this is real, makes my decision easy to just stay home and train and race for events where money is not their number 1 goal
