Karnazes.
Probably Webb and Rupp. Nelson too if he doesn't focus on the 10k/marathon.
Webb
Fernandez
Derrick

Isn't this joke a little played out?
Honestly, it seems like LR is obsessed with DK. It seems like every single thread will have some oh-so-clever person who just has to mention him.
Anyway, hasn't anyone heard about Jordan Hasay?
Umm... Ever heard of Evan Jager?

I'm calling it right now- and I say Rupp, then Nelson, then Webb, then Fernandez. The rest I don't think will break it any time soon.
Galen Rupp
I don't think Tim Nelson has the necessary speed and could retire a 13:12 guy. Alan Webb could definitely get there, but I see Rupp beating him to the punch, as well as beating Fernandez to the line as well.
Bobby Curtis will be a 13:10-ish guy as well. I like Chris Derrick but could see him really busting through over 10,000m first and then backstepping into the 5000m like Ritz did. Brent Vaughn: have a feeling he'll move up to the 10,000m.
Elliot Heath will be hitting 13:20's for a couple of seasons before breaking through in that event. If anything, Andy Bayer's got as great a shot as anyone right now. Solos 7:47 while Nelson et al roll 7:49 on an over-sized track.
One of the Wisco guys under Schumacher.
Mo Trafeh. You heard it here first.
Mo Farah You heard it here first.
Calling Andrew Bumbalough.
Teg
Rupp? Maybe - hard to tell. If he stops pressing so hard in the beginning of races maybe. Might be a battle between him and Bumbalough for next sub-13.
Nelson? No - not going to drop 20 seconds in one year + does not have requisite speed (sorry man). Plus he's way too quiet :).
Bumbalough? Wild card. He is training with 2 other sub 13 guys. He does have the speed. Training with champions breeds champions - assuming you have the talent, which he does.
Webb? No - I have a list of reasons but you all know them. Frankly I'd like it if we don't talk about him again until he apologizes to me personally for acting like damn fool.
Fernandez? Not while in the collegiate system plus he doesn't have the base required for a sub 13.
Elliott Heath? Not while in the collegiate system + not going to drop 30 seconds in one year. But for sure if he sticks with it post-collegiate.
Derrick? Not in teh collegiate system. Plus dude is injured half the time. Valuable training time missed.
Vaughn? Not enough speed. True Story.
Curtis? When was the last time this guy slept? - no.
Another wild card: Jager. Read what I said about champions training with champions. He is the direct benefit. Even still I think Bumbalaugh will beat him to it.
Yeah, if Jager wasn't injured, I would have said Bumbi and Jager in the same race. I think they're going to be GREAT for each other when they're both healthy. Soon, they'll be right there nipping at Solinsky and Teg's heels (in the 5k I mean, not counting Bumbi's cross victory over Teg).

They do seem like remarkably similar athletes. Both excel at the 1500/5000 and have raced extraordinarily well despite, from what I've heard, significantly lower mileage than many of their peers, indicating that their ceilings are relatively higher than most with similar PRs.
