My girlfriend is the same & doesn't like traditional v day gifts. I wrote her a love letter & she loved it.
Go to a yummy cupcake / cake store in your area - get a selection of slices of cakes or mini cupcakes.... I'm w/ your g-friend in that I hate the heart shape box of chocs or overpriced roses...
My boyfriend now husband did the above for me - it was brilliant!
another idea thats on the pricier end - buy two wine glasses and a bottle of wine to share :) Pier One usually has some cute/ slightly different ones that can be fun to get.
How about a giant chocolate log with pipe cleaner arms and legs?
