I am often asked by distance running students about ivy league distance running programs and a question that invariably arises is which ivy has the best distance running coach(es). Thoughts? Serious replies only, please.

Go to Williams or Haverford.
Honestly, I think it depends on the runner. First, there are many ways to train a runner- who's style matches the runner's?
Second- personality matters. If you don't like the coach and don't trust him he won't work for you.
More tangible- look at improvement for runners over the years. I've seen more kids I know (my own and neighboring schools) get slower and usually its from too much mileage and not enough recovery.
So, the answer is, it depends.
Princeton or Columbia
I say Princeton (for both genders). Good recruiting. Good training. Good job of keeping their runners fresh throughout the year so they can do well all three running seasons. Doesn't hurt that the results are often a few All-americans a year.
I second Columbia
