Nickname: The Wild Card
What closing split(s) do you want to compare? Heard 25.5 for the last 200, 41.1 for the final 307m.
McNeill closed in 26.2 to win last year in 13:36.
Curtis, 2008 5k NCAA's.
26 isn't 25, but thanks for playing guys!
Who cares. When he can run 12.53 indoors then get back to us. Running that fast at the end, when running that slow (13.37), isn't all that great.

Bethke closed in a 25 at the big ten indoors 5k on wisco's track once
I was thinking Terry Brahm- but I think he ran 13:56 or so
I am so proud of my boy Elliott Heath, one of the five best college distance runners out there. The others, in my openion Chris Derrick, JT Sullivan, Dylan Ferris, & Jake Riley
Terry Brahm closed the 1986 NCAA 5000 in 25.0. But over all time was 13:54.
Sounds like a nice performance.
Why do you want to bait people into saying something negative about it?

....is this a joke? Usually i can tell, but not this time.....
No baiting. Just want to make it clear that it is indeed the fastest ever. Not that that means anything to anybody that didn't see it live (or at least on video). This kid is going to be DEADLY from this point on.

He had a fabulous double in the 3000 and 5000, running down an early big lead in the 5000 the first night and then beating See and Mead in the 3000 at the end. I am not certain if the
Bethke won the 3,000 meters Saturday and added the 5,000-meter title on Sunday. Bethke won the 3,000 meters in 8:10.80, kicking by Ohio States Jeff See (second in 8:11.69) and Minnesota's Hassan Mead (third in 8:11.73).
In the 5,000 meters Bethke kicked by most of the field over the last 200 meters to win in 14:23.84. Mead placed second in 14:26.63.
Everybody other than Mead looked like they were standing still and he out-kicked Mead by more than 3 seconds. I timed him at about 25 for the last lap but it was hard to be precise even when using the video later. 25 seconds on that track is no mean feat.
