Lapped second place - I don't know if there was a pacesetter. The fastest time in the world so far by seven seconds.
Lisa Koll got (deserved) praise for her 8:53 a few weeks ago, so this performance shouldn't be overlooked either.

Good solo run for 8:43.79. Her previous best was 8:54.97.
Would appear to be a facility record, breaking Kim Smith's 8:49.18 from 2004.

And the evidence against recent American performances mounts.

You have reason to suspect something nefarious from Arkansas women's coach Lance Harter?
american women have been # 1 in the world in the 800 and 1500 the last 3 years and with this time tonight wurth/thomas, barringer, flanagan, huddle, koll, goucher begley and more the american woman are a clear # 3 at 3/5k and they are not that far behind #2.
I take back my original statement "lapped second place" - this was an assumption I made when I saw that the margin of victory was 35 seconds. However, that's pretty much even pace for this race, so the 2nd-place girl might have made it to the bell before Wurth-Thomas finished. I wasn't there, I don't know.
Still a great run.
This meet is nothing close to the meet it used to be. Arkansas sends its best men to the Husky meet instead of running at home in hits showcase event? WTF?
Congrats to Christin Wurth. It was a pleasure watching her during her days as a Ladyback. Tough, tough runner that harkened back to the days when their women's team was really hard to handle. Kleinmann, Drossin, Yoder-Begley, Byrd, Robertson, Schwald, Flowers....

I agree, but you are mixing your groups. The Drossin, Schwald, Flowers, Teter, group was VERY different from the Kleinmann, Yoder-Begley, Byrd, Robertson group.
