I've been running regularly for the past two months but not a lot. Maybe 30 miles a week. To give you an idea of where I am, I just ran 10k in 42:30 and it felt good. Hard for the last mile but not huffing and puffing. My PR is 38:30 which I ran last summer.
What do I need to do to run under 35 in 3 months or so?
I suggest changing something up or simply running faster in workouts. You have plenty of time to get there but start changing things now. What are you weak at? Improve it.
- get some longer tempos in 4-8 miles
- repeats 2k's @ 10k race pace
- get the 5k time below 17:00
- Long runs 60-80minutes
- Get used to running at a faster pace than usual
- try finding a key workout to show progress every other week
