Highschool freshman runner here, 5:10 PR on the mile (yeah I'm aware I'm average). My coach has us on a two week break in-between XC and winter track, and winter track and spring track. In this break we usually run about 20 minutes once every two days. In the transitional period from XC to winter track, due to this break, it took almost half the season to achieve the level of fitness I had at the end of XC. In the upcoming break, I was wondering what the merits might be of continuing to run at my weekly mileage every day. Pros cons of resting and continuing to train?
