For those who haven't seen/heard...
Poker player Ashton Griffin bet a friend that he could run 70 miles in 24 hours. He put up $900,000 to his friend's $300,000 and won the $300K as he finished the 70 miles with an hour to spare.

no offense, but the average human walks about 3 miles an hour. 3*24=72. Sounds pretty easy to me.

^Yes, Yes infact they do.
The was a bet made over many cocktails and completed hungover the next day on 4 hours sleep. Also there were stipulations, such as a certain speed had to be maintained and walking was not allowed. Whether or not it is an impressive feat for people who are regulars here to complete or not is up to you. Seems to me like a genius way for a poker player to make 300k easy.

Also now from reading the article I see the odds were 3-1 in favor of the guy running the 70 miles. So if he lost he had to pay $900,000.

Doesn't say anything about what pace he ran. Does say the runner offered to stop with 10 miles to go and 3 hours left and let them only pay him $200,000. At that point unless he was hurt I would have told them to stop the bet and save $100,000.
