Funny. I'm the opposite. 5:30 for 10 miles is no problem, but 15:37 is all out.
quit using the word tempo,,,,,,it means nothing. Use the correct runnign terms when talking about pace. What you are talking about is a Lactate threshold run.

This is completely okay. It shows exactly what you need to work on. Run 5:40-50 pace for the tempos for a while and when that starts to feel easier you can quicken the pace a bit. I would also make them longer than you are probably running right now. 50 minutes at 5:50 pace would be a great workout for you and over time it would actually make 5:30 pace for shorter ones feel easier. Work on your weaknesses!
