Why not? What is the magic number of daily miles someone who is not obsessed can run and why?
Why not!? Common sense says that a marathon, much less two marathons, a day is way over the top. His body will eventually tell him. No worries about that.
There is no magic number for everyone on every day. It changes with mental and physical state. And it changes with every person. 26 miles could indeed be what a certain person needs. It's about what some top ultra-marathoners do. And that's what this guy is - a record-holding ultra-marathoner. So I think he knows plenty well what his "body will tell him." He's been training at a world class level for years. This is nothing new.
You're missing my point...ultra-marathoning is stupid!

For a wuss
Ignoring common sense and going over the top is the whole point.
You, sir, need to learn to respect the marathon.

Life is absurdity, my friend. We are, each of us, living out daily a distintcly biased value system. But, those with some character and class try to identify and appreciate authentic living and pursuit of excellence even when it is beyond their myopic existence.

A marathon is, by definition, a race of 26 miles and 385 yards. So running a marathon every day doesn't simply imply that you are running a certain number of daily miles per day. It implies that you are RACING 26.2 miles every day. Sounds obsessive to me.

I'm pretty sure he just meant the marathon distance. I could say, "I need to get in at least a mile everyday," and not mean racing the mile.
I did not get the impression he's racing a marathon everyday. The article says he generally runs for an hour in the morning and then does the balance of his "marathon" in an afternoon run. That's not racing. Heck, I did that myself for weeks on end at times.
bruinboy appears to be someone who is afraid of exploring his/her own limits. Perhaps afraid of attempting things that he/she knows he/she might fail at?
I guess it's bad when someone runs a marathon a day, but you retards can spend 4 hours a night on letsrun.
4 hours? More like 7-8 for me.
