Hi,
Just discovered this great forum! I completed my first half marathon this weekend in 2 hours even with limited training due to injury.
I was planning to train my first full marathon in July but an opportunity has presented itself and now I'm planning to run one in 6 weeks (end of March). Given my lack of training, this one will be strictly for gaining experience while avoiding injury, so I'm aiming for 4:45 (10:50/mile). If all goes well, I'll go for 4 hours in July.
Any suggestions on how I should train over the next 6 weeks? Assuming last 3 weeks for tapering, I have 4 long runs. How about I run 14, 15, 16 and 17 miles respectively (remember I just ran 13 last weekend) at 10:50/mile, plus an equal number of mid-week miles? Or should I try to do longer long runs?
As you may have sensed, I am a bit injury prone.
Thanks a ton!
