Howdy ya'll,
Been a while since I posted on LR.com but I can't seem to find an good answer to this so here goes...
I have recently moved to India and as an avid runner I am training for the London Marathon in April. Compared to the US, the air quality here is horrible.
Based on my own data (Garmin 405), it appears that air quality is having a significant effect on my running pace. For a given exertion level, my mile pace seems to have slowed down by approximately 30-45 seconds per mile.
I am curious to know if there are any good studies that show the effect air quality/pollution on running so that I can get a better idea of my "adjusted" training pace and precautions I might take to mitigate any long term health risks.
Thanks in advance...
