If there are few enough people entered in a pentathlon in a meet, can you show up, check in, not compete in any of the events, get a score of 0 points for the pent, and then still score points towards the team score?

I don't actually know this but im sure the answer is no. At the very least you would need to finish the running events.
No. You must start the first event in the pentathlon. You may then withdraw, and compete in the rest of the meet.
If you do not start the first event, you may not compete in any subsequent events in the meet.[quote]aspiring pentathlete wrote:
