Perry Julien is a podiatrist and not really set up to handle knee problems. He is very good at what he does though.
Before going and seeing a ortho, I would suggest going to see Josh Glass at Georgia Sports Chiropractic,

Josh works with a few Olympians and travels with the USATF frequently. He also works on many in the competitive running scene here in Atlanta. He has kept me injury free while still running big miles for a few years now and has even fixed problems that a few Ortho's told me could only be fixed by months off of running and extended physical therapy.
I suspect that many of the Atlanta folks on these boards also see Josh and would highly recommend him.

I recommend Dr Ismay Campbell - 678 238-0400. She works on trigger points mainly but also does chiropractic adjusting. She's got a really good reputation with many of the runners/tri-athletes.
I meant to add, her office is in East Cobb/ Marietta (close to Collumns Drive) on Johnson Ferry road.
