Lagat's attempting to break the 2 mile American record. In his interview Saturday Lukas Verzbicas said he might run there. Anyone know if there is official word of his entry yet?
Does anyone think he could break Lindgren's 840 indoor record?

There's no "official" word. NYRR only reveals a name or two at a time, trying to get more coverage that way. They've only indicated Lagat and his two pacesetters. Come to think of it, I think one of the pacesetters is Russell Brown. Wonder if that's changed because of his Boston win.
Doesn't this kid go to school?
bump
Lagat has said he's hoping to hit the mile in 4:04. What good would it do Lukas to run a race at that pace? He would either be close to his mile pr at the halfway point, or stuck in no-man's land if he went out more conservative.
Considering the fact that he has taken extra classes to graduate a year earlier, yes I would say he goes to school. Besides, both New Balance and NYRR are Saturday races. Most likely, he gets out of school on Friday, then has a late afternoon/early evening flight. Doesn't miss a minute of school.
There were a couple ladies who attempted this during the marathon this past November. I don't think anyone will come close to Pippig's record, however.
I think the second rabbit is supposed to be Russell Brown. I wonder if, after the race he had this weekend, he'd still be interested in doing that.

Robby Andrews and Russell Brown will be pacing Kip, Robby for 1200m and Russell for 2000m. Kip is deciding now how best to approach the race, but is looking to get ahead of the pace in the first half, and split 3K in around 7:40.
What's amazing here is that Padilla ran the record on a wooden, 11 lap-to-the-mile track...
