That was pathetic! Learn the words of my national anthem or do not "sing" it. Why are Super Bowl organizers unable to find someone that can sing the national anthem. Don't make it your own. It is our national anthem. You would think that tard would at least learn the words.
She was probably drunk, or he face was unable to mouth them correctly due to the pancake makeup.

1. She messed up the words.
2. She deviated from the way it was written.
3. At the conclusion, she said, "Thank you".
You don't thank the audience after you sing the national anthem. It is not about you. It is your opportunity to honor the song and the nation, not draw attention to yourself.
Maybe she was supposed to be on Glee instead.
Why can't all these Gods we have sing the Anthem just sing it like it was written. Thats all. My God to have another idiot forget the lines...if she ever knew them, what a freakin joke we all are.

Well, normally i feel sorry for people who mess it up b/c it is probably more about nerves than not knowing the words to the song.
I might flub the words out of nerves if i ever had to do it, and I know the words to the song very well.
She has no excuse though; she can't still get nervous for things like that. If she does, than I forgive her.
I agree that you do not thank the crowd though.
Sorry, but Xtina surely made a buttload of money on that gig and certainly knew about it with plenty of notice....no excuse for the lyrics being so screamingly screwed, the melody being fantastically f***ed and her pitch so magnificently mangled. I think she said "thank you" because so many people had to sit there and endure the pain.
I bet she'll blame her hard year of canceled concerts and a divorce.....

Pretty much. It was like nails on a chalkboard when she fukked it up. But isn't that just so representative of modern day America, and I'll bet more people didn't even notice than did. I implore everyone on here to read "Colossus" by harvard-trained historian Niall Ferguson.
