I love this guy's attitude.

solinsky.
Yeah, that guy too.
Amen, finished that interview with nice quotes!
That quote was my favorite part of watching the US champs
I think he should've worked a few more double negatives into that statement....I get the gist, but...whew! Congrats to him though!
my school competed against Vaughns pretty much every xc and track meet. Watching him from his SO - SR year and then at CU has been a lot of fun. He really is a good kid (a man now - but you know how us teachers are), and smart as hell, with his applied mathematics degree.
Today's result pumps me up quite a bit. Great job young man, keep it up.
I think Brent gained quite a few fans today with that hard-core move and quote.
Count me as one.
He is saying that once he starts believing he is capable of running with Solinsky he will quit? Or what?
I think what it means is that if he CAN run alongside Solinsky he wants to quit

I did not see the video everyone's talking about. But it sounds like a classic case of aborting one sentence and then starting a new one.
Perhaps this transcription would fit better with the actual video?
"If I don't think that... [pause, recollects thoughts] I can't be running with a guy like Solinsky, I should't bother going out the door."
Makes sense this way.
Come on, I think he actually said "If I don't think I CAN run with those guys, then there's no point in running every day."
Makes sense to me. So inspiring!
