Disappoints me and his many fans yet again. I'n starting to lose the faith in my favorite american distance runner.

Tomorrow Abdi will get up, get out the door, and proceed to train for his next race.
Tomorrow you will be sitting somewhere in Bumf***, USA whining about him disappointing you. Big whup.
I'm wearing his shirt right now. I still like the guy.
I'm a huge fan and I'm not disappointed. He went out and raced. Probably not in great shape, but he didn't skip it like a lot of other top Americans. It's sad to have faith in someone and then lose it. Maybe you didn't really have faith in the guy in the first place. Fair weather fan.

Malmo calm down old man, Abdi did appear to be over confident once again pre-race and then have another sub par performance. I am definitely not knocking the guy but if he can't walk the walk then don't talk the talk.
I don't think he appeared to be overconfident. He was hopeful.
People have to have "first races back" somewhere, you know.
And I don't get how some of you folks claim he's continually disappointing. He's won a slew of national championships on the roads and the track and made three Olympic teams.

Whiny little punk, you're the one who needs to chill. Adbi had a positive expectation, just as he should. You should be taking notes, not giving lectures.
he's the only distance runner with any personality
How old is he now? He was never really in the race and I'm wondering if he is gonna get back to being a competitor for national titles. I hope he does!! He always seems like a cool dude in interviews.
There will be some surprises at the Olympic marathon trials in January and I hope Abdi is one of them. According to his USATF bio, he will have just turned 35 by then.
