Tallinn Heptathlon - ASHTON EATON!

Great first 3 events and then a not-great 2.01m in the high jump. Even so, he's 17 points ahead of his WR pace.

His 2nd day will need to be near-flawless though. He'll need to reach at least 5.10m in the PV to break 6500.

Eaton's Day 2 WR marks: hurdles (7.77 - did 7.64 last week), 5.10 in vault, 1000 (2:32.67 - 1:56 800 indicates he could lower his 1000 time)

These are the most grueling events. I hope he can beat his own record today.

Eaton at 7.60 for the hurdles. That is a new worlds best for a multi athlete. He is up to 5.20.

...and a 5.20 PV puts Eaton at 5635 after 6 events! He is kicking some tush here. He only needs about 2:40.8 (well within range for him) to break his WR; if he runs close to his PR for the 1km, he could almost hit 6600!!

I wonder what kind of shape he is in. He has added some muscle but he has always been a good 1000/1500 runner.

Sweeeeeet! New World Record for Ashton - 6568!

Eaton jooksis avapäeval 60 meetrit 6,66-ga, hüppas kaugust 7.77, tõukas kuuli isiklikuks rekordiks 14.45 ja hüppas kõrgust 2.01 ning edestas rekordigraafikut 17 punktiga. Teisel päeval jooksis ameeriklane 60 meetri tõketes isikliku rekordi 7,60 ning ületas teivashüppes 5.20. Päeva viimane ala 1000 m jooks õnnestus Eatoni jaoks samuti. Ta läbis distantsi ajaga 2.34,74 ja kogus 6568 punkti! Eaton ületas enda nimele kuulunud senise maailmarekordi 69 punktiga.
