Suffered the loss of 9 NJ athletes today with the re-scheduling of the NJ Indoor Meet of Champions (MOC) to Saturday Feb 26 with the Brooks meet on Sunday Feb 27. NJ athletes who qualify through the sectionals and group meets to MOC cannot not skip the MOC or they loose outdoor eligibility which is a state rule. State Meet Director has been advised who these athletes are so that state rules are complied with. These athletes all likely will/should qualify through and will not risk eligibility, and a potential state championship to attend Brooks. Also, their schools would not allow them to. Additionally, 2 PA athletes listed on the Brooks site have the PA State Indoor Meet on Sat Feb 26 as well. They have both gone on record as to running multiple events at their state meet. Why would Brooks meet management list them when they never committed? ..... certainly mis-leading. How many other participants are listed who have not truly committed? This creates a true credibility issue with the event. Not a bad concept though, but marks do not count due to track being over sized at 307M. No HS records can be set on an over sized track nor can performances make the all-time lists vs. legit tracks of 200M or less.
