I recently found out that I won't be able to run until the summer, and I am trying to find an after-school job to fill up all of my newfound time. I'm not sure if I'd want to work at my local running store--on one hand I think it'd be fun to chat with some of the serious runners who come in, but on the other hand I'd probably have to deal with a lot of people who say things that make me die a little inside. (This site has trained me to hate hobbyjoggers too well). And I don't know how I feel ethically about selling over-priced compression socks.
So what do I do, Letsrun? Do I apply for a job there? Or what type of place would be nice to work at? I probably should add that I'll be coming off of crutches, and I don't know how much that'll affect my ability to move around.
Any advice or stories would be much appreciated.
