Dang dude that sounds like a harsh transition. Here's hoping you can keep your sanity and make the best of what you've got.

Just keep working at it and you will be back on your feet. My dad who is 70 just had his hip go out and can't work. (mechanic) He is the type that went 35 years without missing a day. He has already worked through two torn labrums over the last few years. If you were running 5ks at 70, that drive will get you back where you want to be. Good Luck.

you have to do whatever you can to get out of there - rehab and escape. Every time my father went into one of those places he degenerated very quickly. We got him home and he improved.
