I'm interested in helping with their research...how do I get in?
For a real decent job, a degree which matters. Probably engineering of some sort. Knowing someone would work with any degree. Ex phys is for PT or maybe a life science, if you're pushing it. If you're a Ph.D. then your chances increase a lot, more with a lot of big papers, but then no need for a shoe company job. More likely research in ex phys. Good luck.
