Congrats to Jeff Schirmer on his latest 5k!
Does anyone have any ideas on where this program will go in the next 4-5 years? (Men's or Women's program)

Sparks is the man.
Remarkably good program given that they don't get any particularly top-notch recruits...ever
Schirmer is very fast, and Mohamed Mohamed improved a TON in his time at SIU
Zach Dahleen also ran 4:06.xx this weekend.
However, no one could possibly WANT to go to school at SIU. It's a terribly shitty university and its in the middle of bumblefvck.

Link to results? Or just results?
Not the complete results, but it lists his time.
Any thoughts about the girls team?
I'm going to sign with SIUC in a week... I'm really excited! Sparks is setting up a solid program that should contend in the MVC's! As far as the campus goes, yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's a lot warmer than where I live and it's also a beautiful campus.
Southern was the only school in Illinois that had my major. I didn't really want to go there but you get out of school what you put into it. The campus is pretty but I did wonder if I would hear "Dueling Banjoes" if I wandered too far away from the University. People weren't very friendly to runners either. I had quite a bit of crap thrown at me for some reason.

I think he had a 800 female at the Trials last go around? Not sure if she was on the team or post college...
SIU in general has a great women's program that finished 9th last outdoor season. Connie has done a lot there, as has the rest of the coaching staff. Esp. considering the poor location/not big name/mid-major school.
They have one of the best throwing programs in the country.
