What type of fish is this!?
Where did it come from?
On second look, I would say its a gizzard shad, but I'm really not sure. Shad are basically a larger forage fish and are pretty common throughout the eastern/central U.S. Anyone else have an idea?
Not sure where it's from sorry. I know this is vague. All I have is this picture and I need to know the type. Thanks
I'd also tentatively say gizzard shad. Many have the "thread" on the dorsal snapped off.
It could also be a bunker, aka menhaden. From the pic it's hard to discern the markings.
Gefilte Fish?
I would say Gizzard Shad as well. Are you the same guy who posted a pic of fish head a few months back and some people said "mackeral".
Could you not find a better source for information? Most runners are not exactly ichthyologists.
