First off, let me say that I have never cheated on my girlfriend. We've been dating for 9 months. Nor have I contemplated cheating, tried to cheat, or given her any reason to suspect I would cheat. Now, to make a long story short, I left my girlfriend in my room while I was out running this past Saturday, as I have done many times before. When I was using Microsoft Word today to do school work, I noticed that the "most recent" files menu item was filled with documents from my "Personal" folder. These are an odd mix of reflective writings I've composed over several years, non for quite some time, and the odd personal documents I've needed to write for random purposes (such as a bond redemption letter). There's nothing there I wouldn't share with her, nothing about her, but I feel quite violated that she did this. And it's not the first time. Six months ago, I went running and she had flipped through my cell phone text messages. She told me she did this because she found one from my ex-gf, who shares the same circle of friends, and was suspicious about it because I was very flattering to her. I had just been trying to calm her down because we are friends (a friendship that has since deteriorated to the point of non-existence). At any rate, I'm not sure what to do at this point because this girl is pretty awesome, but I'm not sure if I feel comfortable with her anymore. Anyone else encountered this scenario? What did you do?
