The first time I ever used email was 1997 (my first year of college). I attended a workshop where we learned such things. lol.
My dad is so old he used email in the 1970s
In 1993 I first got email in college. But it wasn't until 1994 that the web found its way to us. Interestingly, it was my friend across the hall who introduced me to the web- with the nude photos of Pam Anderson and Cameron Diaz that he had printed off. I guess some things never change...
lol. Very true.
What is your point?
The first video recommended after that video ends is this:

and that says it all my friends.
First got an e-mail address in '88.
First used Gopher either in 1991 or 1992.
Modern internet (looking something like today) through a browser was 1994.
I first got an email address and used USENET bb in freshman year of college, 1985.
So what ? I used to communicate with colleagues the world over via BSC terminals, Burroughs Poll Select terminals, SNA 3270 SDLC terminals, X.25, ISDN, TSO, OSI, Decnet, TI Thermal Acoustic Coupler Modems, AT&T 103 Dial Up Modem, AT&T 108 Lease Line Modem, Tymshare, Tymnet, etc. I can't remember how many different devices and networks we used before the internet was invented by UCLA and The Rand Corp. And no, I didn't have to look up on wikipedia any of the stuff I typed above ;-)

I was working as a volunteer at the 1984 Summer Olympics in LA and we were given would be basically an email account for the volunteers, staff, and athletes of the games. We had access to computers in the staff area and were able to communicate with anyone who had an account in the village.
