I can afford Rent, utilities, and my vehicle in addition to paying down some student loans but I don't have much money after that. I also work full time.
I'm not living pay check to pay check but I'm close. I'm in my mid-late 20's and accumulating money has been difficult the last 3 years in addition to getting rid of my student loans.
The problem is I think I'm eating very unhealthily because of my income. While I do run, this is becoming an issue to me because I have noticed some minor health changes over the last few years. I would like to eat better but can't afford it. I would also like to spend this time of my life putting at least 50 dollars a month aside for some savings, which I have none at the moment.
Should I consider food stamps? The extra 200 a month would go a long way but I honestly must say that I don't want to feel like a leach on the system. I know the system may be near breaking point so would what I'm doing be moral if I were to go on foodstamps? I have known people who make more money than me on foodstamps, and heard stories of entire towns abusing the program

. But that doesn't make it right for me to do it.
What should I do?
