I need to know how to keep the peace. Not talking trash, I am talking about literal fistfights.
Friends and In-Laws coming to watch Superbowl at our home, a couple will be staying over for the weekend, so no way to keeep them separate. 2 brother-in-laws are Steeler fans, tend to drink regularly and heavily, and watch quietly, but one has a temper. Rest are Packer fans and they don't drink much but when they do they get loud and talk too much.
My wife insists "everyone is an adult, you are being too sensitive". I am convinced if the Steelers win there will be no real problems. If the Packers are blowing out the Steelers or get controversial calls I think we will have broken furniture, broken relationships, and hospital visits.
I have insisted on plastic bottles and no liquor, but they'll buy their own liquor and bring it (they know I've tried to cut them off in the past).
Any other suggestions, short of a pre-game pep talk about it is all a game and we agree to keep the peace?
THis just sucks because I know if it goes down in my house then my 1 brother-in-law that is a Steeler fan is gonna put a hurt on somebody (who probably is asking for it) and I am gonna have to throw everybody who is not bleeding out of the house and it will be me taking the heat instead of my wife.
Any advice appreciated, and F U to anyone who says I should stop kissing up to my wife. She's hot, she's faithful, and it just ain't worth it.
Peace Out
