Does completing a controlled 16 mile run at 5:45 pace, indicate I could run the marathon at that pace. Of course it felt slightly uncomfortable or at least tedious, but it was controlled in the sense that i felt i could have gone faster or gone farther.
Also have done 22 mile long run, averaging around 85 miles per week.
Need to know what pace to shoot for. I want to be conservative in my first marathon, but at the same time i want to get the most out of it.
is it important to do anything longer than 22. I dont know if i should if my average mileage has not been much more than 85. i dont know if its worth it in that case. still i do want my body to be ready for that type of energy use.
