Truly the saddest state of affairs.
Truly the saddest state of affairs.
Doesn't that say more about "T&F News"? If there was more demand they would carry it.
T&F News is quite boring.
They still make Track and Field News?
I used to love when the new one came out so I could find out what happened a month and half ago.
Seriously, that's where I got most of my results.
Sometimes the newspapers would show some big meets three places deep but TNFN is where I got the good stuff.
Now I look for a Letsrun thread to pop and discuss a race in progress.
If we don't get complete FAT results in 5 minutes we get upset.
Last year, when Alan Webb ran one particular race it took about an hour to get his result and there was some serious frustration on the board.
1,000 high resolutions on a CD received in the mail with each monthly issue would help TAFN compete in today's world.

Obviously Barnes and Noble understands that there is no market for 2 month old news from a magazine published by a Travel Agency is useless when you can get it at Letsrun in real time for free.
Did ya see the article about hair extensions in last months Make up Artist?
Make Up Artist has advertisers and many people make a living from the sale and application of make-up. Add to that the large installed base of make-up users. What part of capitalism do you not understand?
I LOOOVED T&FN, but then along came the internet. T&F was great because it focused on results, there are no Run a Faster 5k, or Hydration Tips for Summer articles. However in the age of the net, it's completely irrelevant.
I never really liked T&F News b/c I never cared much for results, but I understand the draw.
That being said, there really is no reason to buy the magazine anymore. If they did a bunch of post-race interviews and other cool editorial things, it would be relevant, but as it is, there is just no market.
There are a TON of hairdressers, beauty shops and people who wear makeup. I think you can find a better example of a magazine that B&N should stop carrying, like the one for stand-up paddle boards. That one seems beyond niche, but that is just my opinion.
