I have been running but I havnt been consistent. If I trained for 2 months of 100 + mpw could I run a personal best in the 5k? I have done high mileage before but for the past 2 months I have been around 50-60 mpw but only running 5-6 days a week.

I've been training seriously for 4 weeks after taking 6 very inconsistent down weeks of 30-40 miles each. My return weeks have been 105, 105, 100 and 90. I just PR'd in the 5k yesterday. I imagine I'll PR by more a month from now but the point is yes, as long as you get in your workouts and stay consistent in your training regimen, you can PR in 2 months. Hell, if you're anything like me or my teammates you can probably PR in half the time.
