not every school is going to be Oklahoma State or Villanova, but any school that does the above is going to have a solid team where runners see consistent improvement
Yeah, because as all of the old Arkansas guys in the John McDonnell thread will tell you, the key to success is finding runners that will never drink.
In all seriousness, I think good programs are built by coaches that not only recruit solid runners, but convince guys to buy into their system. Not all top teams train the exact same way, although things like solid mileage and consistency are general guidelines. All good programs, however, are full of motivated athletes and coaches that believe in what they're doing and have a fun time doing it.
