Solid. #2 currently to Areson, whose effort was a notch above.
Finals Penn State Invite
1 Areson, Jackie SR Tennessee 9:01.91M
Keep in mind that Areson is a fifth year senior. Jordan is a young 19 years old.
1 Reid, Sheila SR-4 Villanova 8:56.92 NYRR Saturday Night at the Armory II 01/29/11 01/29/11
Shiela Reid ran under 8:57 today, I am not sure what it was exactly but it was between 8:52 and 8:57. Rabbit went through 1k and she was completely alone for the last 2k.

Beat me to it
Sheila is from Canada though, we're talking Americans here.
Okay come on people, while Areson and Reid are both extremely impressive, they are 5th year seniors and Hasay is a sophomore. Hasay's performance is just as impressive given that fact.
NCAAs are not age group races. The objective is to score points, period.
Reid is not a fifth year

It's a good opener for her, that's it for now. She ran what, the equiv of a 911? outdoors in 2008. As her XC season showed, she's def turned the corner and is ready to throw down some big times this year.
When she drops into the 8:50's, then we should get excited (which i think there's a good chance she will this year).
There is such a double standard here. Notice how people were making a big deal out of Fernandez's 3:5x miles as a freshman when there were a few much older runners running similar times. Or the sub 13:30 performances when you had someone like Chelanga going way faster.
Same deal here, Hasay is a much younger runner and her PRs are faster than Reid/Areson were at the same age. Those 2 are great runners, not to take anything away from them, but for a young runner who hasn't even turned 20 this is a stupendous performance.

Idiot.
We're comparing performances here, not seeing who scored the most points.

CoachD is one of the biggest F'tards on letsrun. This thread was about what Hasay did. Period.
and coach d merely pointed out that sheila reid shit all over Hasays time. God, so sick of all you people out there on your knees for Hasay. Yeah shes good, chill the F out, there are others out there, some better ones too.

It's f'tards like you who give letsrun a bad name. You need to chill the "f" out. That is not what he pointed out at all. He referenced that Ncaa are to score points, not age based competitions proving he's a true f'tard. This thread was about her perforance, which is superior to any of her the other girls time at the same age. No one said she should be awarded Ncaa championship based on an age graded performance. There's always F'tards like you and coach D who need to point out that someone else ran faster than the person the thread is about which isn't needed.
in response to "not a god send"... please name one runner who has a better resume than Jordan Hasay at the age of 19? Name one....please. Name ONE. All Jordan does is "WIN". That's all she knows how to do. And that my friend is what it is all about.

That's why she got 3rd at the NCAA 1500 and 3rd at XC right?
2/10
n 2008, Hasay ran 9:52 for 3200 (9:19 en route, 9:14 3K equivalent). Areson ran 9:58 for 3000, for a 44-second deficit. A year later, in 2009, Areson ran 9:31.
