A few weeks ago I was in a DMR and ran the mile indoors. I got 4:59 AND I miscounted my laps. I thought my 7th lap was my last one and started kicking. I slowed down to a jog when I crossed the finish line only realizing I had another lap. So I gave it all I had left on the last lap and got 4:59. But the next week I ran an open mile and got 5:14, and today I ran it and got 5:10. Was the 4:59 just a fluke? It has been snowing a lot and we haven't had any quality practices in weeks. We usually do distance runs if we can get in a practice and rarely a workout. I usually run at home the rest of the time. Could it be a lack of workouts that is causing this? Or was the 4:59 just a one time thing?
