Hopefully this does not come to fruition. From the article, this sounds like another baseless law to add to the heap. Without real data to back the effectiveness of such a law, it will just be another failed political attempt to achieve something that sounds ideal.

Agreed, I wear on Ipod on most recovery runs or long runs when I'm alone. If you keep the volume reasonable you can still hear everything, and you just need to be paying a little more attention to traffic.
Just put in one earbud, problem solved.
