I think he looked good. Granted he didn't run a blazing time, but he was just running with the lead pack.
I'd guess we see an impressive, surprising time in four months at Boston.

It was good considering that there was a lot of turns and the course was very hilly. It was also a very tactical race. Obviously, Hall got beaten in the kick which is not that suprising(although I would have loved to see the last ~300m of the race to see what really happened). But he's not as in good of form as he was a few years back.
I think he'll have a similar result to previous years this year in Boston. That's just IMO, but most likely he'll have a similar performance.
God is telling him what to do now........because god has a plan for Ryan.
He looks like he is 5 lbs heavier compared to when he ran the AR in the half. More muscle on his upper body and legs look thicker. He doesn't have the same snap in his legs that he had when he ran the AR. His stride looks a little forced and not as free as it used to be.
That being said, he did not look like the pace was hard for him. It was warm and the course is slow. If he really dives in, he could get lean and sharpen up in time for Boston. At least he shaved the beard. It is a start.

I know, it was in the upper 50's at the start of the race. Amazing so many people were able to finish with the brutally warm conditions. Hopefully nobody has any long term side affects from running this race.
He ran 1:04 around this time last year although obviously every year has different circumstances. I think we could see a 2:07:30-2:08:30 assuming he stays healthy and is doing a lot of mileage now. Today was a good step IMO.

He's doing even LESS mileage now. He's cut out Sunday's in his training program and he said he no longer does some of the PM 2 hour easy runs he used to do after his morning training sessions

Why does it seem that whenever someone isn't running fast they look fat? When they run fast they look extremely fit? Doesn't make sense.

People don't seem to realize how bad the heat was at Houston.
Ryan looked unfazed by the majority of the race; he only worked the last 2 miles when the race picked up, and he only got beat the last half mile, and you can't expect that he's been working on speed in the middle of preparation for a hilly marathon.
i wont say hes breaking records at boston, but i think we can expect his typical 4-5th place finish.
If you want to be competitive with sub 2:06 guys you don't start doing less mileage and taking one day off a week.
The smart move for Hall would have been leaving the country and training with these guys similar to what Kennedy did back in his day.
Decent performance, I would bet he runs right about 2:09 or so at Boston.
I saw an interview with him where he said he's running 180 to 200 mpw and that he said that stuff about lower mileage and taking Sundays off just to get the letsrun idiots going.
I'd send the link but it wasn't online. We were in a bar having a few drinks and he said it to some guy from Men's Running magazine.
