Definitely contextual. Consider, I'm 27, and "back in the day" no one (in my milieu) knew what the hell the internet was.
Never would be the best outcome of this poll.
If you cant remember when all TV stations went off at 1am, dont use the term "back in the day".

Totally depends on context, especially who the audience is. I'm 25 and have used it in certain contexts (especially at work where I am one of the longer tenured employees).

Not that old because "Back in the day" is a recent expression. People my age say "in the olden days".
My Dad is so old he's in the original Internet White Pages Book which is a small paperback book sold at college bookstores back in the day.
