HE JUST LOST THE MILLROSE MILE....
HE JUST LOST THE MILLROSE MILE....
Yep, he's done.
Next on his plate: attempt at US indoor 2-mile record before heading to Australia in early March to get his outdoor world 5000 qualifier.
Said at the post race press conference that he's more motivated than ever to come back next year and win the Wannamaker again.
Turned the corner. Not done, but not many PRs in his future
12:54 and 7:29 just last season? What a disgrace. Should have retired years ago.
I can see Lagat being like the Jaime Moyer of track.
Yeah, losing a close indoor mile race to the World Indoor Champion for 1500 . . . stick a fork in Lagat folks, he's done.
Yeah he is only training for like 3 - 4 weeks after a break of 5 weeks and i am sure what he is doing now is just base work. So a 3.59 mile is actually great and probably he would have had trouble with a 3.57 outdoor mile but who goes out after a five week break and 3 weeks of working out base work for 5 km (50 - 55 minute runs once a day) and breaking a 4 minute mile.
Maybe this information is incorrect but i see to recall this from reading his twitter now and then.
I have to corret myself he started training in november not january so he is working out for 12 weeks.

Oh, yeah, he's completely done. With PR/ARs in the 5000 and 3000 less than 8 months ago.
When Lagat comes second in a close race to a world champion in the event, he's "done." When Rupp pulls out or DNFs more races than he finishes, he's the great hope. Hilarious.
