Mekkonen is proving to be a real indoor specialist, his indoor World Title was impressive, and beating Lagat indoors at any time is impressive... compared to outdoors he is so much better inside!
Pretty sad that a 20 year old kid from Indiana ran faster than both these professionals tonight with less fanfare.

In the post race press conference, Mekonnen said he took the lead to try to lock up 2nd. Said (through a translator) he didn't think he could win until he was going into the final turn. Kind of surprising. Flew over from Addis Ababa on Tuesday (got here Wednesday). Very impressive win
