It was one of those "mutual decisions", as they say in the papers.
It just seems a bit weird to me. People love the guy and he seems exactly what you would like for OTC. I know he has plateaued for a few years but if nike's whole goal is selling shoes it seems like they would want to keep a guy that has a big DIII following the the Eugene crowed likes because of the hair and 'stache.
I think he wants a medal and OTC doesn't train for that.

Looks like he joined Nick Willis' new 'training group' in ann arbor/nz - lee emanual, nick, brandon bethke, and a couple local guys.
I heard Will Leer wants an Oly/OutdoorWC medal and is pursuing that dream.

Because when Gags left, the coaching has gone down hill. Warhurst is far superior to anything happening in Eugene.
One could probably ask the same thing about Max King, Matt Scherer, and Don Sage. Have I forgotten any other departees?
we hear the same reasons over and over again. the crappy cold and wet weather is depressing. nothing to do in-town overrun with dangerous meth addicts and caucasoid aboriginals. low stipends from otc. you only live once you know.
I forgot Nicole Teter, probably retired due to age (37). Sage is probably retired also, but it's just a guess.
