I got an advanced copy, read the whole thing, and wrote up a review. Check it out if you are interested.

I look forward to not reading this.
"Jesus Made Them Beat Me" by Ryan Hall
Sounds interesting. Does it have pictures?
Can Hall write?
Ugh. What a flaming closet case hiding inside the safety of overly blatant "Christianity."
Stereotype central.
No thanks.

Thanks for the review Tief.
yeah, thanks for the review. Actually I find the topic of interplay between religion and running interesting in itself. Recently reading a long book about Jewish history--their religion gave them incredible tenacity and discipline that gave them success in many ways. But also sometimes led them not to fight back in the face of persecution due to the tendancy to think it "God's will."
What was the name of this book about Jews?
A History of the Jews" by Paul Johnson. I picked up up once before and put it down but this time determined to finish it. It's a slog but interesting. A tiny thread winding its way through the tapestry of recorded history from the time of Abraham (approx 2000 BC) to the Greeks & Romans, and onto the present.
“The day-to-day life of a professional runner is not that glamorous.” Ryan’s days are pretty boring. Get up, eat, read the Bible, run, stretch, massage therapy, eat, nap, run, more massage, eat, go to sleep. Wake up the next day and do it again.

Awwww...poor Ryan Hall. This is a dream life compared to 99% of the rest of the world.
He is so out of touch with reality.
It's amazing what happened to the jews 2000 years ago, all of a sudden since they've been killing the Palestinians and stealing their land.
Uh I guess the present doesn't matter, only what they say happened 2000 years ago, which is total bullshit anyway.

It doesn't sound like he's complaining or feeling sorry for himself. He's saying that lifestyle is not what many people would perceive as glamorous.
If there are times when he's complaining or stating that it's difficult, so what? Even the most enjoyable careers have things that are difficult or annoying.
