Heel pain has kept me off the roads since the NYC Marathon. Consulted two podiatrists:
- one says stay off it for six months, keep swimming, cycling, yoga, stretching, etc.
- the other recommended ESWT (extracorporeal shock wave therapy) that severely bruises the entire area in hopes of stimulating the healing process. that would mean wearing a boot for six weeks.
After nearly three months off from running, no real change is my painful status.
Anyone have experience with heel bursistis or ESWT?
