Going against what the other poster said and say no.
People react differently to the marathon. I've run 8 of them and can say that I will try to always take the day off from work the next day. If I run hard, I can hardly walk the next day and sometimes not even be able to get out of bed. That's marathons that I avereged 85 miles a week for 15 weeks, with a high of 100 or so. Is that not training enough?
My advice about the marathon: Respect it and only do it of you are ready to give it your all and let it immobolize you for a day or two. Go hard or go home.
Or run it easy if you need to function the next day. Choose one or the other.
