Can I have a clue of my mile/3k current fitness based on this workout alone?
thanks
Try going out and running a timed mile and then a 3k in another couple of days. That will tell you for sure.
The trouble I have with predicting based on your workout is the distance of intervals (<300m). If I remember my exercise physiology correctly, once you are running beyond 300 meters (or about a minute), you're body transitions from anaerobic (the muscles energy of glycogen or sugar is respired without oxygen) to an aerobic workout.
So I don't know if you are just really good at doing short sprints (strides) with little rest, or if you were running these (at least the first 47) per your aerobic capacity (without any lactic acid build-up in your legs).
I converted your splits to something I could work with... Let's say you did 8 miles worth of 400 meter intervals at 70 seconds, I'd straight-line convert that to 9:20 for two miles, at the slowest. And you could probably sustain that pace (or at least 5:00/mile) for up to 4 miles, half of your total interval distance.
Have you run 4 miles less than 20:00?
